Six days from now, the 37th Annual Nova House Book Riot will begin, running from May 8th to 11th at the Niagara Falls Sportsplex (2710 Sinnicks Ave.). Following last year’s $36,500 success, locals will have the chance to browse an even larger collection of used movies, CDs, board games, and books — but that’s not all. The week before, volunteers will sort through all of the region’s generous donations into over 50 categories! Undoubtedly, this event promises something for the book-lover, games enthusiast, hobbyist, and more.
All proceeds from this event will go towards helping women and children cope with and escape from violence and abuse. The Women’s Place of South Niagara Inc., the organization behind the 37th Annual Nova House Book Riot, has provided the community with safe shelters and counselling for years, so continued support is greatly appreciated. If you wish to contribute, bear in mind the following items are not accepted: magazines (including National Geographic and Reader’s Digest books and compilations), encyclopaedias, textbooks, VHS tapes, or cassettes.
