Earlier this summer, local shop owners and residents celebrated when the Niagara Wine Tour added St. Catharines to its route. Now, the Canadian Craft Beer Festival introduces the first annual Niagara Craft Beer Festival, taking place August 22nd to 24th at Montebello Park, St. Catharines. To kick-start this new tradition, the festival expects to sell 10,000+ tickets. For every unused food or beverage token collected, the Niagara Craft Beer Festival will donate $1 to the Box Run.
So far, confirmed breweries include Bell City, Brickworks, Brimstone, Brock, Descendants, Flying Monkeys, Grand River, Highlander, Ironwood, Kilannan, Lake of Bays, McAuslan, Mill St., NC Teaching, Nickel Brook, Oast House, Railway City, SilverSmith, Taps on Queen, Turtle Island and Wellington. For more food and beverage venders, swing by the festival’s official website.
Over the weekend, attendants can watch an impressive line-up of headlining acts such as The Trews and USS. As well, there will be seminars and guest speakers at this event: Mirella Amato of Beerology, for example, will host Sunday’s tasting event. As one may assume, tickets are available only to individuals 19 years and older. The festival will run regardless of weather – no refunds. Prices vary over the weekend: $30 Friday, $35 Saturday, $10 Sunday or $50 all weekend. Add-ons and specials are also available for purchase on the website!
